The “Inglite aeg” <\/i>charity programme broadcast
\non 18 December on TV3 raised funds for five people in need, two of whom \u2013 a
\nfamily man named Erik and a grandmother named Irene \u2013 are supported by the Gift
\nof Life cancer treatment foundation. 128,476 euros are given to the foundation
\nfor supporting cancer patients, ensuring continued crucial treatment for Erik
\nand Irene.<\/p>\n
Erik,
\nfrom Tartu, has been fighting malicious lung cancer over the last years. The
\nHealth Insurance Fund does not cover his treatment, but the cancer treatment
\nfoundation has been funding it monthly over the last two years. His treatment
\nwill continue, ensuring that his daughters, Karmel and Marion, have their dad
\nand Margit, his wife.<\/p>\n
Irene,
\nfrom P\u00e4rnu, is suffering from late stage lung cancer. The cancer treatment
\nfoundation started supporting her treatment this autumn. She wishes to see her
\ngrandchildren, Andri and Janelle, grow up and spend as much precious time as
\npossible with her only daughter, Helina.<\/p>\n
“We
\nwould like to thank all benefactors, the crew of TV3, all musicians who
\nappeared and everyone who gave their contribution. Together you gave those in
\nneed hope and a special feeling of Christmas Peace, time to spend with their
\nloved ones and a chance to focus on maintaining their health and going on with
\ntheir treatment,” said Katrin Kuusem\u00e4e, the CEO of the Gift of Life cancer
\ntreatment foundation.<\/p>\n
The Inglite aeg<\/i> charity programme was
\nbroadcast for the fourth time this year. Singers who appeared were Valter
\nSoosalu, the winner of the latest Your
\nFace Sounds Familiar<\/i>, Karl-Erik Taukar, Tanja Mihhailova-Saar, Getter
\nJaani, Birgit Sarrap and Ivo Linna. The programme’s host was Keili S\u00fckij\u00e4inen.
\nThe purpose of the programme is to raise funds and support specific ill-fated
\npeople, who find it really difficult to overcome their situation by their own
\nmeans. This year’s programme helped five people in need.<\/p>\n
Inglite aeg<\/i> broke a record this year by raising
\n321,190 euros for five people in need. The raised sum will be distributed
\nevenly between the five, and the funds of Erik and Irene will be given to the
\nGift of Life cancer treatment foundation.<\/p>\n
Previously
\nInglite aeg<\/i> has raised funds for
\nchildren’s treatment, for instance. The most outstanding recovery was the one
\nof a little boy named Sander, who was born deaf, but thanks to a complicated
\nsurgery can now hear. Little Karmo has also made an incredible recovery. He
